Rose and Art - I have just finished reading your special tribute for "D-Day, 58 Years Later." It is very meaningful to those of us of that generation, and I thank you so much for adding it to your already powerful web site! I enjoyed Jason Honeycutt's article and his biography, especially since I had met his grandfather and family at our 86th Chemical Mortar Battalion's reunion in Biloxi, MS recently. I know other members of the 86th enjoy your web site immensely, and I can just imagine that those dear comrades and/or spouses who have gone on above are also pleased to know that you are keeping their memory alive. Thanks!! Mittie

I happened upon your site quite by accident...and what a treat! My dad served in the Pacific in WWII. I perform with a group called "Victory Jukebox USA" which is a musical tribute to the WWII generation (the show is performed as though it is May 1945 with period costumes, hair, make-up, musical arrangements, etc) and it was wonderful to read these letters. It helps to stay true to the period. Thanks to all our veterans...where would we be without you!?!?

My name is Edmund Marco and it's a pleasure to sign your guest book. I work for an advertising agency in London. Our agency represents direct marketing companies that are involved in the marketing of products as seen on TV in England. Most of the infomercial products come from the U.S. but then again we export our talents as well. My brother has appeared in infomercials in the U.S. advertising various products. I think it's hilarious that English people respond so well to American products while Americans tend to respond well to sales people who have an English accent! none.

I am recently studying World War 2 in my History Class. Our latest assignment was to interview a person that fought in WW2. I have to say, at first I was kind of sad. See, my grandfather, who I loved very much, was in WW2. Unfortunately, he died when I was 5. I would trade anything in the world to have him back in my life. However, I did get my information from my Great Uncle. I have to say, I have a ton of respect for those who fought for us in World War 2. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the veterans! THANK YOU!!!!!!

My father was in WW2 also and I have some documentation and paperwork he saved that I got from my mom a few years ago.I never knew him as he died before I was born but the info I have is amazing with the wonderful work he did in the Marine unit he was in. He was in the 22nd Marine unit during the war but has been with many units previously and beyond the war. Been trying to get more info on him, but closed doors everywhere I've gone. Would love to be able to find someone from his regime, but they would be pretty old now or not alive. My father died as Colonel Philip Paul Santon, but during the war he was a captain. Can't find any family either. Have tried and thought I made a connection but got no responses back.Long story. Would love to hear from anyone's family member who was in that war and still alive who may have known my father. Got a wonderful book on that time with some info on him and newspaper articles that he saved. Wish I was able to know this brilliant man. Saddens me so much because our lives were so hard after he died and my mom won't talk much about it. Too painful to this day. Thanks for any help. God Bless. Wendy beer

Just found your website and enjoyed it so much. My dad was in WW11 in 1943-1944. Thank God for those guys that fought for our country. He passed away in 1968. He never talked about the war much. I have done a family tree on him and his family, and in the process now of doing a booklet on all his army career (30) years. Getting the history of all his units, where he was at, etc. It is so interesting. I found out a lot about him I never knew. He was always so quiet and reserved. Thank God for all those guys that saved our country. Rita

I own an internet gaming centre in the uk. i have always been interested in the history of ww2 and at the moment games companies are producing detailed games in relation to this war. my customers range from all ages and i think that although they play these games out, the dont truly understand what happened to the world during this time. what i intend to do is to have links to good sites that can prove to be historical, so the kids can read about the real heros that fought and died. gaming companies are trying to bring this accross. but i would like to gather real stories that can be portrayed to people of what happened. stories that would otherwise go unnoticed. i hope that you do not mind me using your site address to place on our website forum under "Real Life"? I hope to hear from you soon best regards Steve

My Dad is my WW2 hero, as was he to many others during the war. He was a Master Seargeant in the Army serving in Normandy, France and Germany. He has many medals and a special citation for his heroism. He was one that could not speak of the horrendous things he saw during the war and never really spoke until the night he passed away. I sat by his bedside and listened to some of the events of that war and I will never forget the things he talked about. My Dad is Master Sergent Marion Hawkins from Walters, OK. He served from 1942- 1944. He was wounded in France bad enough to to honorably discharged and got to come home to my wonderful Mother Irene and his daughter Linda whom he had not seen. He passed away on March 11, 2001 at the age of 80. He attended his division reunions in Nebraska every year through 1997. This was the year my Mother passed away and he did not make it after that. He was and is a true American War hero in every sense of the word. We will never forget what he did for his country and for his family. We loved him very much. He was a well respected man and the honor and respect showed to him at his memorial will always be remembered.
